KITCHEN

Experienced Cook    (min 5 years Experience)                (1 Position)
 

COOK 
Seasonal position full time from May 9th - October 9th. The Restaurant is open for public and has 55 seats, our Guests are primarily fisherman

and fisherman families plus local cottagers.

You Responsibilities are including, but not limited,  food inventory/ordering, food prep + portioning, quality control, menu planning for full service menu (breakfast/lunch/dinner and buffets), group meals + a la carte menu, clean and sanitize kitchen, must have min 5 years experience as cook.

Duties also include, but not limited, washing dishes and cleaning work space as well as the Kitchen.

We operate in a very clean kitchen environment and our cooks are responsible to keep it clean.

Must supply own kitchen uniform.  Standard First Aid recommended, a Food Handler Certificate from the Health Unit is necessary;

Couples are welcome, a Waitress/Housekeeping position is available as well. Must be physical fit.

We have staff accommodations available.

 

Wage:  starting at $14.00 or more depending on qualifications and performance, + gratuities

 

 

DINING ROOM / HOUSEKEEPING
* Servers / Housekeeping                                            (2 Positions)

DINING ROOM SERVERS (Bilingual preferred--English/French)/Housekeeping:
Must have open, friendly personality and good social skills. Duties include serving of food and beverage, set-up and cleaning of dining room, bar and appropriate kitchen areas. Responsible for all guests cheques assigned and maintaining a cash float, inventory control, and other duties as assigned. Dining room service consists of both banquet style for groups and a la carte dining. Liquor and supplies inventory and ordering, must be of legal age to serve liquor. Duties include washing dishes, cleaning restaurant & kitchen as well as helping with food preparation. 

Housekeeping: Cabin cleaning, some laundry (cleaning & sorting of laundry) and supply inventory. Other cleaning duties as assigned may include cleaning public areas of the Lodge. 

Experience in the food service industry is an asset but not necessary as training will be provided.  CPR or Standard First Aid Certificate is recommended; Smart Serve Certificate is necessary (course may be taken on site).  Neat and professional appearance and uniforms are required. COOP-Placements perfered.

Wage:  $10.25, + gratuities

 

BOATHOUSE/MAINTENANCE

*Boathouse/Camp Attendant/Groundskeeper             (1 - 2 Positions)

Boathouse/Camp Attendant
Must have open, friendly personality and good social skills. Working at the Boathouse, managing and cleaning the boat rental fleet and canoes/paddleboats, customer service at the docks, boathouse (selling live bait tackle etc.) and gas pump. - Use of cash register in boathouse and maintain float.  - Maintaining the yard/grass, campfire pits, Garbage/Recycling Center, beach and playground.  - Must be able to take instruction and work on his/her own with little supervision.  - Will assist in general maintenance of equipment and buildings, a handy person is a plus. Must have G Driver License – Will assist housekeeping.

Seasonal position, for a full time position this position is combined with some server and housekeeping duties.

About the Wolseley Lodge

 

Wolseley Bay Lodge is a family run Fishing and Family Resort, with a happy and relaxed atmosphere.

It is located on the scenic French River, just 3.5 hours north of Toronto. The Lodge has a  “drive-in” access

and is set directly on the shore of the Wolseley Bay. We are only 16 km driving distance from the closest town Noelville

with local shopping, bank, Laundromat, Churches, Pharmacy, Beer Store and Post Office.

Our Lodge operates between the summer months: May 1st and October 11th of 2010.

Basically we start 3 weeks before Victoria Long Weekend and closing after Thanksgiving.

 

With a Main Lodge and sixteen cabins spread around it in the forest, we provide accommodations for vacationers

that range from families with children, professional and armature fishermen, to artists, nature lovers and retirees

as well as groups of professionals. Our guests are housed in the cabins ranging from one to four bedrooms and

can enjoy our Restaurant with a capacity of 50 indoor and 40 patio seating.

The Restaurant offers a larger Dining Menu selection and a weekly Friday night only “All-You-Can-Eat Buffet”

visited by guests and many locals. For our guests we offer American Plan (All-Inclusive Package

with three meals per day) as well as Housekeeping & Fishing Packages.

 

Our marina is used as the launching station for all boaters, fishermen and canoeing guests of the Wolseley Bay area

of the French River,. We operate our marina directly on the Wolseley Bay with a capacity of 40+ boat slips,

gas pump, bait shop and fish cleaning hut. We offer and rent our 16 boats as well as equipment

(paddles, life jackets, anchors, etc.), fishing equipment (live bait, bait buckets, nets, etc.).

For our employees without their own transportation/accommodation we offer full season accommodation

(Room & board) in our private employee 3 bedroom cabin + 2 bunks located 10 min walking distance

from our Main Lodge. It is fully equipped with kitchen and kitchen equipment, bathroom, living area, Sat-TV,

patio, boathouse and dock. The cabin is non-smoking and no pets and it is designated only for our room & board employees.

Telephone available in the cabin for local calls and a Bell Phone at the Lodge for long distance calls with use of own purchased calling cards.

We have internet access in the Lodge. Due to our remote location, closest area for cell phone reception

is approx. 2 km away (provider: so far Rogers only).
